Mai Tai
1 ounce Jamaican rum
1 ounce Hawaiian Agricole rum
1/2 ounce orange curaçao
1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
1/2 ounce Sugarcane Dane Mac Nut Orgeat
1/4 ounce Sugarcane Dane Cane Syrup
Garnish: lime husk, mint sprig
Method:
Add all ingredients and one juiced half of lime (lime husk) into a shaker with cocktail ice and shake vigorously but quickly (about 3 seconds). Strain into a double rocks glass, fill with crushed ice, garnish with a lime husk and mint sprig.
Classic Daiquiri
2 ounces rum*
1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
1 ounce Sugarcane Dane Cane Syrup
Garnish: lime wheel
Method:
Add the rum, lime juice and Sugarcane Dane Cane Syrup to a shaker with ice, and shake until well-chilled
Strain into a chilled coupe
Garnish with a lime twist
*This versatile cocktail can be enjoyed with any rum and is in fact a great lens to explore the wide world of rum. We prefer Hawaiian Agricole rums, Jamaican (non-dark), and additive-free rums from select distillers/importers/blenders.
